It was time once again for the Seattle Maritime Festival and Tugboat Races. This year Heather and I headed down on our own. We had a little wind and sailed our way downtown. And since we got there a little early, we cruised around and checked out the tugboats - and the other spectators - for a while. We also got to watch a demonstration helicopter rescue put on by the Coast Guard that was pretty neat.
Finally, it was time for the race! Skip was having some generator problems and got a slow start - not helped by the two boats that cut him off right at the beginning - but he rallied and made up some ground, and managed to pilot Galene to a respectable 2nd place.
After the race, we headed over to Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island for the night. We awoke to some nice fog over the city which burned off as we made our way home.
As always, Thanks for looking.
