Mom and Mack were down in Tampa visiting the Howe's for a week or so, so we decided to head down and visit as well. We spent a long weekend relaxing, enjoying the sun, and cruising around Florida on the boats. While waiting for our "water taxi" ride Saturday morning, we had a chance to do a bit of bird watching, which is another of our favorite Florida activities.

After a quick stop at the house to switch boats, we were back out to explore Tampa. After cruising around and enjoying being on the water, we'd worked up an appetite, so we headed to Rick's on the River for an early dinner. Then, around sunset, we headed back to downtown Tampa where Ye Mystic Krew of Gasparilla were returning the key to the city to the Mayor.
The next morning, we loaded up the boat and headed over to Safety Harbor for lunch. It was a beautiful day, and a great time out on the boat.

Once back, we took turns borrowing Jamie's kayak and exploring the canals. We found lots more neat birds, especially herons, but I was amazed at the numbers of Kingfishers and Ospreys.

We also spent a lot of time playing with Cameron and Kyra, which somehow I don't really have any pictures of. Oops. It was great to get to see everyone, but it's nice to be home again too. Something about all that sunshine seems unnatural.

Thanks for looking!
