A couple weeks ago, we ventured over to Starved Rock State Park, in NW Illinois. It's a pretty place right on the Illinois River, with lots of bluffs and plants and people. It gets a lot of visitors, being so close to Chicago, so most of their trails are either paved, or are big, wooden, boardwalk type things. Somewhat different than we are used to, but we had a good time anyway.
